Unit 6 - Pale blue dot

Image
Good afternoon! First of it all, happy Peace Day!. I hope you enjoyed the celebrations at school and that the exercise we did in class made you think a little. I want to put the text, the questions and the pictures here, and I want you to show it to your family: it is a very important message!. This is your room. You share it with your brother or sister. Maybe you fight, but you make peace because your bond is bigger than you. Your room is smaller than your house. This is your house. You share it with your family. Maybe you fight, but you make peace because your love is bigger than you. Your house is larger than your room, but smaller than your street. This is your street. Many of your friends live here. Sometimes you fight wit your friends, but you get along and make peace because friendship is important. Your street is larger than your house, but smaller than your region. This is Andalusia. You share it with other Andalusians, most people yo

Good afternoon! I wanted to ask you if you liked today's class and the work we did with the computers. I know it is hard to record yourself. I also know that listening to your own voice is strange, but you did well today :). Thanks specially to Alba's team, for helping keeping the silence we need to record.

Unit 5 - History of your family.

Good afternoon! I see you are very interested in the things we did today, so I think we can do a bit more of work on that. I am very interested in what some of you said about the rest of the world being boring. I want you to think about your vacations and the world and answer these questions: My favourite vacation spot is _____ because _____ I want/don't want to see the world outside the town because _____ I like/dislike country life because _____ Next, ask your family about the next questions and write three sentences about each of them. Remember, if you use the frequency words we studied your team will get extra points! Find someone that works on agriculture and write 3 sentences about him/her. Find someone (an elder sibling, a relative...) that moved out to the capital. Write three sentences about him/her. Find someone that doesn't work on agriculture and stayed here. Write three sentences about him/her. I really want to hear your stories about th

Unit 5 - Questions for your podcast.

Good afternoon! We did a good job today writing information for our podcast. What do you think we make it even more personal?. Here is a list of things about your family that you could include when you record it: My family has lived here since ... My family lives on ... When I grow up we want to ... What i most like about here ... What I would like to be different about here ... Also, I thought it would be a good idea if you wanted to invite a relative (someone from your family ) to record the podcast in class. Think about it and tell me during the next lessons. Go ahead and ask your family about the first points and talk to them about the rest. I am sure there is a lot of interesting history!

Unit 5 - Cornwall

Good afternoon! Here is the text we read today. I know it is a bit harder than the ones we usually do, but you did ok!. Don't forget to study the new words and review the questions !. Cornwall is in the Southwest of England. It is a beautiful place but there is more to it than beauty!. There are towns and villages that are very old and they usually speak English but they have their own language that is taught at schools!. Cornwall has large cities, but part of its population live in small towns in the countryside or by the sea. The people of Cornwall live on fishing, agriculture and mining. Good afternoon! Again, happy new year and welcome to the second term!. I hope everything goes as well as it did on the first and we can learn a lot. Anyway, here is the text we listened to today and the pictures we saw. As always, you can find the questions and answers we did in class too! It's Saturday!. Isobel regularly wakes up early in the weekend. Every school day her mom and dad drive the van to school. Weekends are different. Usually, the first thing Isobel does is to wake up her sister Anna. Isobel and Anna live in a small cottage in Cornwall. 10 miles from the nearest town. Together they feed their six dogs and join their parents for breakfast. Before playtime Isobel and Anna usually water the flowers with a watering can. Playtime!. Isobel and Anna want to have a picnic today, so they cross the fields and pick up blackberries. The family usually have picnics in the beach, but sometimes the wind is just too strong. Anyway, the day h
