Unit 6 - British astronaut

Good afternoon!

First of all, here is the video of the space lesson by Tim Peake!. Wouldn't it be great to have a cosmic classroom here too?

Second, here is the text we read today with the questions and answers. Below you can also read the text and solution for the listening exercise.

Tim Peake is the first British astronaut to live in the Inernational Space Station which is 400km above the Earth. To get there he had to take the hardest training he has ever done, but it was worth it!. He there for six months and he carried out 30 experiments.

One of the experiments is about how food grows in space. Tim will studied more than a million seeds of a salad plant. When Tim landed, the seeds were shared among schools in Britain. Students were able to observe how they grow after six months in space. Do you think they are weaker or stronger?

Tim's mission was called Principia, which is part of the title a 300-year-old book by British scientist Isaac Newton. However, the logo for Principia is much modern and was designed by a 13-year-old British child!. British students were able to ask questions to Tim using a radio.
