Unit 8 - Our favourite video game designer!

Good afternoon!

First, congratulations on our game of snowman. For a minute there I thought you were not going to make it!

Last session you told me that your favourite person from this unit is the Japanese video game designer, so today we read some more about him. Here is the text we read and the activities we did. You can also read the interview and its solution.

Yoshiro Kimura is 20 years old. He works in am office for a very big video-game company. He has good friends there, but he cannot be creative at his job. The truth is that he has to make games about fighting and conflict. He has decided he is going to leave the company and travel the world for two years.

After he leaves the company he first decides where is going to go. He is going to go Europe, first to Switzerland and then to the U.K. He loves to travel, but he usually thinks about his job and his office. Maybe it wasn't so bad?. Maybe he can learn to ignore the fights and the conflicts?

A couple of days before returning to Japan, he decides to travel a bit more. This time he is going to go to Perú!. When he arrives in Perú he is confused because he doesn't speak any Spanish. However, he manages to travel to Los Andes where he finds a group of children playing videogames. He sees they are having a good time, not fighting and enjoying. He realises his job can make people happy is he does it right. He is going back to Japan and try again!
